Sam Barnhart: Autobiography

My name is Sam Barnhart and I am a Junior, Special Education Major at Lock Haven University. I live in Jersey Shore, Pa which is about ten minutes from Lock Haven. Currently I commute to school everyday. I enjoy playing sports and hiking in my free time. I currently work at Cochran Elementary School at an after school program, Child Guidance, for students with behavioral problems. In the summers I spend most of my days trimming trees for the PP and L power line right-of-ways. Technology has been a great part of my education since the day I stepped into a classroom. Using computers and printers to complete small reports in elementary school and junior high. I remember having to use our student ID cards to enter through the high school doors in the morning. Now, more than ever, technology is involved in almost everything I do on a daily basis. Typing reports, creating graphs and charts, making power-point presentations, using email to exchange thoughts in ideas with fellow peers and professors, printing of power-point notes and papers that I have typed are all examples of how technology is involved in my learning, everyday. Through this course I hope to achieve a better understanding and knowledge of how to use technology in my classroom and the importance it plays in helping students achieve more through their education.
